I've got not much to say. It gets better. More mysteries and surrealistic turns of event are thrown into the mix and, personally, I couldn't put it down. It's one of those rare moments I'm glad my native tongue is Japanese.

The story has GOT TO go on because the two protagonists have come SO titillatingly close to meeting each other but NO, Murakami doesn't make it easy for them or the reader, dammit.

Worse yet, the narrative of the female protagonist, Aomame, abruptly ends with a cruel cliffhanger that leaves you in the lurch bordering on plain abandonment role play [SPOILER COMING AT YOU! SKIP TO THE NEXT PARAGRAPH] where Aomame picturesquely shoves a gun in her mouth and pulls the trigger.

It's just frustrating to having to wait half a year for the next volume to come out, but it should be well worth it, although from his other books I can predict that all the mysteries won't be solved to the reader's satisfaction.

Reading in japanese is quite a good challenge and this time it was easier to move on. Maybe because the story becomes more exciting or maybe because I got used to read the japanese Kanjis!? Anyway..
The two parallel stories keep moving on. Tengo reviewing the Fukaeri romance "KUUKI SANAGI" and Aomame in her thrilling missions. This second volume reveals some mysteries of both stories, and gives clear signs they will collide somehow. Murakami plays with the approach of such encounter but makes it thrilling and unpredictable such as the collision of two moons floating on the sky (?!).
The end of this second volume brings astonishing events, but gives no clues of how will be the third and last volume.
